Tekapo Springs is seeking Lifeguards with first aid qualifications for our exciting tourism facility in Lake Tekapo.
Multiple positions available - 1 permanent, 2 fixed term contracts (26th June - 6th October 2017)
The role is responsible for the supervision of bathers in our five outdoor hot pools and aqua play area year-round, and can include doing shifts around our tube park and ice rink in the winter season.
Preference will be given to those candidates with a valid New Zealand lifeguarding qualification, experience with water testing, health and safety, customer service, and a minimum of workplace first aid. However, training can be provided to the right candidates who are willing, demonstrate initiative, and the ability to work well in a team and under pressure.
Due to the nature of our business, shift and weekend work will be required.
Lake Tekapo is a small Alpine village that offers a variety of outdoor adventure, recreation and activities. As part of the package for permanent employees, a winter ski pass to Roundhill ski field is provided, and many staff discounts can be enjoyed at Tekapo Springs. Accommodation for the successful candidates can be arranged through Tekapo Springs.
Tube Park Attendants - Mid June to Mid October season dependent
We are looking for applicants who:
Enjoy working outdoors in cold environment
Enjoy working directly with customers
Are fit and healthy as heavy work is required on occasions
Have 1st aid experience/qualification
Have a current drivers licence
A life guard qualification is highly desirable but not necessary
Rink attendant/ice skating skills highly desirable but not necessary
Experience in the use/operation of Bobcat, ASV, tractors, Snow cat and or snow making highly desirable
Applicants are required to have the rights to work in NZ.

Star Gazing / Astronomy Guides
Tekapo Star Gazing is an exciting new venture operating from Tekapo Springs, combining the two top attractions Tekapo has to offer - hot pools and the amazing southern night sky.
We are seeking expressions of interest for Tour Guides who can captivate and entertain guests using state-of-the-art technology to deliver an unforgettable, out of this world experience. You will take guests on a journey of discovery into the magnificent southern night and help them relax afterwards in our hot pools.
